Black hole employees

What is a black hole? Holding all the knowledge make you better?

The first sentence of Wikipedia definition is; 'A black hole is a region of space from which nothing, not even light, can escape.'

Exactly, that is what some of the colleagues are in terms of knowledge.

By default people tends to think that writing comments, short references in Wikis or forums, is like wasting time. Well, what on earth is supposed the other people is doing trying to understand their job so? Who lose more time? Is it nice or polite way of working? For god sake, WRITE COMMENTS AND WIKI REFERENCES !!!

This is not only for software developers, this could be applied to every job, isn't it? Or the majority of people works alone? Did someone heard about something called 'team', ' colleagues' ? If they are your 'colleagues', show it by writing nice documentation (call it short references) about what do you do, or what have you done. If you hate your colleagues, well, be a professional and work well anyway.

Who needs to demonstrate that having some notes, about a task that you have to do, isn't helpful. COME ON!!! DON'T BE FLUFY LAZY AND WRITE!!!

An employee who holds all or big part of the knowledge, is a good employee? Is good for the colleagues? Is any good for the company? NOT, DEFINITELY NOT TO ALL THE QUESTIONS.

Again, people tends to think like; 'Wow, how much he/she knows. He/she is really good!!' Good for what, good for who? Only for himself/herself benefit. For the rest of the colleagues is a pain in the 'back side'. Every time you need to do something, you need to go and very politely ask for this, and for that, and just in case also for those unrelated things as well, because later on he/she will not be available for you, due to someone else will be asking him/her a battery of questions. Questions that could be nicely answered in Wikis, Forums or any post it if you want.

What I really do not understand, is why the managers of the company allow this things to happen. Do not see them this isn't efficient, productive? One, who holds the information, seems to be working at 200%, while the others work 50% or less. It is me doing some kind stupid reflection or is it real?

That's all, just getting frustrated sometimes ...

Many thanks for reading, I hope you got the main idea, if not, please let me know your thoughts about it, on the comments.

All the best, kind regards.
