After watching the great talk Kanban Vs the Mafia by John Stevenson. Soon I started to being more interested into Kanban.
I always thought that I had far too many small-mini projects todo and no time to finish most of them. I guess that is a quite common situation, specially nowadays when we suffer from infoxification.
I started by reading the book 'Personal Kanban' with the hope to find some good ideas about managing tasks. And thankfully it was the right book. The book itself was recommend by John, having a quick talk in one of the London Java Community events.
I also recommend this book for either project managers or self management. It is not a new system that you need to implement, it is like more kind of philosophy book. The authors recover some ancient ideas like Kaizen and then explains how it applies to the nowadays world.
The two main ideas of Kanban are so simple and for that reason they are so powerful. The first one is 'Visualize your job'. Just by making ur tasks visible a lot of benefits emerge from that. For example it is more easy and obvious to prioritize your job. The second idea is 'Limit your work in progress'. It means, dont try to do ten things at the same time, our brain it is not good at that so our progress and effiency is not really good.

The book is full of clever sentences like for example "Without context, being told what to do is a communication failure". This is the kind of sentences that give to you the right ideas to improve your efficiency and effectiveness.
If you are interested into improve your craft by being more efficient, not by doing more with less. I really recommend you to check this book where you can learn how to use the ideas and how to develop them for your specific situation.
I hope it is usefull for you at it has been for me. For example some of the main benefits that I got is that just by visualizing my job I can work much more relaxed and it means I can focus more on what I need to do every time, I can invest the right amount of time for every task, I can re-organize my job easyly and quickly agains any last minute requirement, and so on.
