Fluid DB

Official definition
FluidDB is an online "cloud" database. Using a flexible underlying representation of information and a new model of control, it allows users and applications to work with information more naturally. That includes dynamically organizing, sharing, combining and augmenting information, and searching in ways that have previously not been possible. It also allows users to choose exactly which information to share with whom, with separate controls for reading and writing.

In the London Geek Nights meetings was introduced this "new" tool. It is quite new, it is more a new style of thinking how to store the data. My idea is that, this is a tool very suitable for some kind of projects. It Is technically the perfect solution for sharing data on the cloud, when the application requires this.

My question is, what happens with the data protection laws? Will the companies be happy to have part of the business data on the cloud, unless they have their own instance of FluidDB ?

It is quite early to see what is going to happen, but anyway, is a really good idea that can be perfect in order to solve technical problems of data sharing.

I hope to work in a FluidDB project in the future, It seems really interesting from a technical point of view.

Thanks to London Geek Nights of ThoughtWorks. And thanks to Nicholas Tollervey to introduce this tool.
